Venezuela Protocol
Venezuela payments are complicated by US sanctions, federal compliance requirements, and local tax obligations. Interstice built the infrastructure that helps maintain compliance.

Venezuela sits on the largest proven oil reserves in the world. After years of sanctions, operational wind-downs, and capital flight, the country is reopening to international business and global institutions are moving to re-establish their positions. Cross-border capital movement into and out of Venezuela requires payment rails that can navigate an active sanctions framework, satisfy OFAC compliance requirements, and settle with institutional-grade finality.
How it works
The Interstice Venezuela Protocol is a cross-border payment compliance infrastructure system purpose-built for the Venezuela corridor. It enables institutions to operate across the U.S.-Venezuela corridor using their own capital, with support for auditability, sanctions screening, and self-custodial transaction workflows.
Support for cross-border transaction workflows involving the U.S.–Venezuela corridor
Sanctions screening through integrated third-party providers against OFAC and global watchlists
Full transaction auditability for compliance and regulatory reporting
Stablecoin-based infrastructure that bypasses legacy correspondent banking friction

Users, entities, and associated wallets are screened through integrated third-party compliance workflows against current OFAC designations, General License parameters, and relevant sanctions databases. Interstice does not authorize your transactions; you do. Where applicable compliance parameters are not met, users may be unable to proceed within the Platform.
The Venezuela Protocol was built for the companies who are actively evaluating Venezuela investment or operations and need compliant payment infrastructure before they can commit.

Venezuela's reopening is happening now. The companies establishing operational and financial infrastructure now are the ones that will define the corridor for the next decade.
