Canton Weekly News — The Ecosystem Continues to Expand
A quiet week for headlines but an active one for Canton's application and validator pipeline. Two apps entered Featured App review, a perpetual futures exchange for tokenized equities and a Bitcoin Lightning bridge, while seven new validator operators lined up for approval by June 24. Canton Coin cooled off after the prior week's $355M funding spike, with the token down roughly 10% on the week and trading volume returning to normal levels.

Apps on Canton
New apps submitted: a perps exchange and a Bitcoin Lightning bridge enter Featured App review
Two applications filed for Featured App status this week, both still awaiting Foundation review:
Edel Markets (submitted June 16) is a perpetual futures exchange for tokenized equities and commodities, built on Canton by Edel Finance (a Titan Labs product). The detail worth noting: Edel says it has already secured 25M CC from Cumberland, the trading firm tied to DRW, via Cashen to meet its locking requirement, and claims roughly 5,000 users already live on its EDELx product. Mainnet launch is targeted for Q3. Canton Foundation tokenomics list
Tritemius (resubmitted June 18) runs what it calls the first and only live exchange connecting Bitcoin's Lightning Network to Canton: users pay a Lightning invoice and receive Canton Coin directly, or send CC and receive Bitcoin back, plus a consumer wallet. Every swap pulls external Bitcoin capital onto Canton. The Spain-based firm is already live on mainnet in beta and has locked 5M CC. It resubmitted after correcting its reward mechanism at the June 18 Tokenomics Committee office hours.Canton Foundation tokenomics list
